Demonstrated success at Aker BPs Valhall field

The Inline X solution for testing pressure safety valves (PSVs) in situ has been on the Aker BP Valhall platforms since 2020. During that time, the project reduced the testing time of PSVs and avoided lifting operations leading to reduced HSE exposure.

The project goal is to perform testing of pressure safety valves (PSVs) without removing them, to improve safety and test quality, and to reduce the overall time spent on valve maintenance.

With the Inline X system, the testing is automated and the results digital, increasing the repeatability and reliability of the test result compared to traditional testing methods. The test results are uploaded to the cloud, and Aker BP can access the Inline X web application for test report review, statistics, and input for future inspection requirements.

Since the unit is online via the 4G network, software updates can be implemented over the air. The operators can contact Inline X support via chat should there be any questions.

So far, PSVs in the range of 4-150 Bar, operating in various services, have been tested.
